Iterations are the basis of good design
What this simply means is that you need to exercise. Iteration is a way of exercising, because it literally forces you to do one thing or segment over and over again. This is useful so that you can become an expert in terms of one or more design elements but as with other things, this has its healthy limits too.
- Iterate once or twice but try to find an alternate solution to the issue when you can, who knows, maybe your approach will eventually become the one which is wider used in the community.
- Working with the same templates is also a form of iteration, which can save you sufficient amount of time, but it’s not always useful.
- Don’t let iteration make your job feel like something you do routinely. Routine can take away loads of inspiration as it’s essentially an activity which is done out of comfort.
