Sell yourself, not a portfolio of works

You are learning to become a web designer, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t have to learn other skills in order to be successful in your profession. Let’s see a couple of these extras which come really handy when you know and learn them.

  • Customer service skills – you need to be empathetic, a good listener and be able to understand what your clients mean.
  • Communication – you will need to be able to clearly communicate what you can and what you cannot do and to find the perfect voice with the client. This is a skill that someone can acquire through experience.
  • Marketing skills – it’s always good to have some marketing skills, especially when it comes to selling your skills to the client. We suggest you to enroll yourself in a marketing course so that you will be able to gain some knowledge about selling and advertisement
  • SEO - you should definitely learn about search engine optimization as this is now a priority when it comes to putting any website and webpage together.
